UD-352 20-inch DMI Dredge

For the first time in a while, we have a good used 20” dredge available, and this one is a truly impressive machine. Manufactured by DredgeMasters International in 1975 for the Port of New Orleans, it was just decommissioned last year after being replaced by a new, larger dredge.  The main dredge pump is a DMI 24x20, with a 50”, 4-vane impeller, with power supplied by two Caterpillar D-398 diesel engines providing 1700 hp @ 1200 rpm combined.  Auxiliary systems are powered by a 725-hp Cat D-348.  The dredge is a powerful excavator, with a DynaMaster cutter system rated at 500-hp.  The cutter is mounted on an 85-ft ladder, allowing working depths of over 70 ft.  Overall hull dimensions: 100’ x 4’ x 8’.
